You probably know about mini sessions if you like getting family photos taken. Although many photographers don’t offer them because they don’t align with their brand and goals! Mini Family Photo Sessions can be amazing, but they aren’t for everyone. Consider these factors when deciding whether a mini session is right for you.
- Expectations for your family photo: When you book a mini family session, you’ll get a few good photos of your family. A mini session is probably not the right fit if you have a very specific shot list in mind. In most cases, it’s not possible to check off specific wants from a list. The mini family session might be right for you if you just need a few good photos, have a short wish list, and are willing to go with the flow. This is one great advantage of a full session! We have time to burn off that energy and capture some amazing moments.

- Your families flexibility: Mini photo sessions are typically stacked, so punctuality is essential. Mini sessions can be stressful if you’re always late. There is usually someone whose spot is directly after yours, so family photographers cannot honor lost time. If you’re late, or have less shoot time than the typical 15 minutes, you’ll forfeit your spot altogether. Considering a mini session might be right for you if you are punctual and can get yourself and your
family out the door on time. Mini sessions might not be the best option if you can’t honor a very specific time slot or your kids have stricter schedules that you don’t feel comfortable deviating from.
